Extending the use of in-situ recycling
Finding solutions to meet the carbon reduction targets is at the top of the agenda for the highways sector. In the latest phase of a project to reduce carbon emissions through resurfacing, Colas technical experts have developed and adapted the Internationally used Recycol process and have completed work on a 2km section of the A41.

Inspiring Young Minds through Social Value Collaboration
In August, Colas hosted a community workshop at New Images Community Centre for the Winsford Youth & Community Forum, engaging with a group 7–11-year-olds attending summer holiday club in Winsford. In collaboration with local supply chain partners Thermal Road Repairs Limited, and L&R Roadlines a series of demonstrations and activities were presented to a group of 15-20 children, each designed to raise awareness about staying safe on the roads.

Colas Launch Reintegration to Employment Initiative in Liverpool
Following success on pilot Reintegration to Employment (RtE) programme, Colas have extended the programme to Liverpool, working alongside community interest company, Nobody Left Behind (NLB), and registered social landlord, South Liverpool Homes to offer support and placements to 16–25-year-olds in the region who are currently not in education, training or employment (NEET).

Colas continues Long Partnership with Leeds City Council
Colas is delighted to continue working in partnership with Leeds City Council (LCC) on the Medium Works Contractor Framework. The two-year framework, with an option to extend to a maximum of 4 years, is valued at £90m and Colas is one of four contractors on the framework which will deliver schemes values between £2m and £7m.

Swindon Borough Council awards new public transport interchange contract to Colas
The Fleming Way Bus Boulevard scheme, which has been developed by Swindon Borough Council, will see Fleming Way completely transformed to accommodate all bus services in the town and will include a new public open space on the north side with a green central spine to increase biodiversity.
